Dear New Property Owner,

On behalf of the Oak Creek Property Owners Association Board of Directors and the other homeowners of Oak Creek, we welcome you to our community. Over the coming months we look forward to meeting you, whether it be walking down the streets, or at our community lake.

The operation of your property owner’s association is governed by a board of volunteer directors. The Board members are elected on a staggered basis by the community. Elections are held at the annual property owners meeting in late October. The Board is responsible for overseeing the daily functions and financial responsibilities of the Association, and for maintaining members’ compliance with the established rules and guidelines. Please take the time to read through the Declarations and Bylaws you received during the home purchase process. Copies are available on the community website under POA DOCUMENTS. There is a monthly Board meeting, held on the third Tuesday of each month. All property owners are invited.

Our community website, SeguinOakCreek.com, is an archive of information regarding Oak Creek and the surrounding area. Upcoming activities, news and events, wildlife sightings, announcements, Declarations and Bylaws, architectural control committee forms for building a new home, remodeling and a directory of your neighbors.

Please take a few minutes to visit and familiarize yourself with this resource and to get to know your neighbors and community. The website provides ready answers to most of the question’s property owners have.

As a new property owner, you may already have some ideas on how you’d like to build on your property. Please keep in mind, the Association has an Architectural Control Committee to help maintain the quality of our neighborhood. Its function is to evaluate the plans for all exterior landscaping, repairs and remodeling (such as painting, decks, fences, trees and bushes, replacement roofs, etc.) in order to ensure compliance with all covenants, restrictions and guidelines. Please visit our step-by-step instructions on how to submit plans for a new build or remodeling an existing home.

The purpose of this review is to protect our scenic environment and maintain the value of our homes. Modifications or remodeling to the exterior of your home and property must be submitted to the Architectural Control Committee for approval before any work begins. If work is started without prior approval, the property owner may be required to alter or remove the changes.

Again, welcome to the Oak Creek community! We know you’ll find this neighborhood is a great and wonderful place to live.

Sincerely,
Board of Directors
Oak Creek Property Owners Association
